I will definately remember them as I am revising my novel today!

My worst trouble really is writing dialogue for a male character - I mean, I don't know how a guy would talk! LOL For that I often turn to my husband, Dad, or male friend to help me out. Granted, since most of the male characters in my head are faeries, elves, or some other fantastical creature, it still doesn't help much! But, at least it gives me a place to start!Harley D. I used the chart when I taught playwriting classes, and my students found it helpful.

As for other books, the only two I think are worth mentioning are Dialogue by Gloria Kempton (EXCELLENT!) and Revision & Self-Editing by James Scott Bell, which has a very good chapter on dialogue.

There's another book out there called something like Creating Dialogue or Creative Dialogue. I don't remember the author, although I think his name starts with a "C," but it's far less helpful than the ones I've mentioned above.

Good luck, and I'm glad you found this helpful.Steve Liskownoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8198581514056172349.post-36878968133673947022010-02-28T11:13:48.000-05:002010-02-28T11:13:48.000-05:00[...] Liskow, Make ‘em Talk the Talk Possibly rel...[...] Liskow, Make ‘em Talk the Talk Possibly related posts: (automatically generated)Writer Wednesday Blog TourGotta Love a Subgenre [...]Writing for a Memorable Performance « By W.
